We will be at the Robson Ranch Farmers Market TOMORROW Friday (3/28) from 8 am - 11 am and the Keller Farmers Market Saturday (3/29) from 8-noon.

In bloom

Ranunculus and anemones are still in bloom along with bluebonnets, Dutch iris, snow drops, and dianthus. We’ve had our first two poppies brightening up their section, but not enough to join in yet. The first cuts of snapdragons are also debuting this week. The very first two bearded iris of the season have popped open which means we’ll be scheduling our Spring Open House!

Available Starters / Seeds

Seeds: Bachelor’s button, love-in-a-mist (nigella), forget-me-nots, cosmos, dara (colored queen Anne’s lace), Mexican sunflowers, gomphrena, bee balm, celosia, cock’s comb, lime basil, blue spice basil, Persian basil, Thai basil, purple hyacinth bean, hardy hibiscus, bupleurum, tassel flower, and marigold.

Starters: We have only one tomato ready left for market (Better Boy), but we have another batch already sprouted and growing up. We also have broccoli, cauliflower, tarragon, yarrow, apple mint, queen Anne’s lace, larkspur, oregano, catnip, green beans, marjoram, curly parsley, orange thyme, mint, jalapenos peppers, rosemary, lavender, cucumbers, zucchini, and yellow squash. The basil still needs another week or so.

Farm Tasks for the Week

Yes, we’re still cleaning up beds. All the formal beds are cleared of leaves but still have a couple of fence lines with irises in oak leaves to dig out.

Started the yearly fire ant and pill bug war. The wasps have also woken up from their winter rest.

Moved some volunteers around in the formal beds.

Chickens

The young chicks are laying and have begun to figure out the daily routine so rounding them back into the coop at the end of the day is getting to be a less time-consuming task. If you need eggs, email/text to reserve.

We have a large assortment of handmade pressed flower or quilled cards along with quilling kits. Due to popular demand, we now have quilled goats.
